UAlg delegation participates in SEA-EU Governing week at the University of Split

The latest Governing Week of the European Universities of the SEAS (SEA-EU) was hosted by SPLIT University in Croatia from November 27th to December 1st. In this event key stakeholders and representatives from the various universities of the Consortium, including a delegation from the University of Algarve (UAlg), convened for in-person discussions to advance the goals and activities of the SEA-EU Alliance. The event served as a platform for substantial contributions from participating universities, with UAlg actively engaging in the discourse through a in person delegation led by Rector Paulo Águas, Vice-Rector Alexandra Teodósio, Pro-rector Patricia Pinto, Professor João Vidal, Marleni Azevedo, Fatemeh Bagheri, and the Student Council members Rita Cruz and Fábio Zacarias.

During the event, the UAlg team actively participated in various meetings throughout the four-day event, including sessions with the Governing Board, Executive Committee, Technical Working Group, Quality and Ethics committee, and Student Council. Additionally, Professor Alexandra Teodósio delivered a presentation on the latest developments concerning the SEA-EU Congress, titled "Strong Partnership to Face Global Challenges and Achieve Sustainable Development Goals," scheduled for January 12-13, 2024, as a milestone in Task 5.1 (SEA-EU Building Bridges: Stronger Partnerships for Global Common Goals) within Work Package 5 (Bridging the Gap with Society). A Global Declaration of Commitment on the respective topics will be signed in this event by the legal representatives of the SEA-EU partners.

It united Rectors, Vice-Rectors, scholars, and students from diverse European backgrounds, fostering collaboration and innovation within the Alliance. Beyond the specified meetings, attendees also enjoyed diverse cultural and social activities including the SEA-EU Photo Contest's exhibition. This week's accomplishments are anticipated to contribute significant value to forthcoming projects within the SEA-EU alliance.
