Change of Institution/Course Pair
Who can apply?
National students who cumulatively:
- Have been admitted and enrolled in another institution/course and have not completed it
- Have taken the national secondary education exams corresponding to the entrance exams fixed for that institution+course for that year, under the general access regime
- In these exams have gained the minimum passing grade required by the higher education institution for that year, under the general access regime
Foreign students who cumulatively:
- Have been admitted and enrolled in a course at a foreign higher education institution and have not completed it
- Have passed final exams of disciplines homologous (equivalent) to the entrance exams of the course they intend to compete in Portugal
Note: Students covered under the International Student Status are not eligible to apply under this regime.

Necessary Documentation
- Identity Document
- ENES file proving the accomplishment of national exams of secondary education corresponding to the entrance exams for the cycle of studies you intend to compete with a passing grade or statement proving the accomplishment of the final exams with the respective exam code (mandatory, except for foreign candidates)
- Secondary education certificate detailing results for years 10, 11 and 12
- Certificate proving completion of final exams of similar disciplines (equivalent) to the entrance exams of the cycle of studies you intend to compete (mandatory for foreign candidates)
- Certificate of last enrolment in a Portuguese or foreign higher education course (waived for students of the University of Algarve)
- Certificate proving that the registration has not expired (not required for students of the University of Algarve and for applicants from Private and foreign Universities)
- Passing certificate for Portuguese or foreign higher education courses, with the respective grade, academic year and corresponding ECTS (not required for students of the University of Algarve)
- Passing certificate for Aptitude tests that over-23s must take in order to attend university, specifying the Portuguese Language Component Specific Component and respective grades (not required for those who took the tests at the University of Algarve)
- For holders of technological specialisation diplomas, a passing certificate for the tests provided for in articles 7 and 8 of Decree-Law No. 113/2014, of 16 July (not required for those who took the tests at the University of Algarve)
- For holders of higher professional technician diplomas, a passing certificate for the tests provided for in articles 10 and 11 of Decree-Law No. 113/2014, of 16 July (not required for those who took the tests at the University Algarve)
Note: Candidates from foreign higher education systems who have passed exams similar to those required for this competition must also provide their curriculum vitae, as well as the documents mentioned in the previous numbers or equivalent, legalised by the official education services from the issuing country and authenticated by the Portuguese diplomatic or consular representation in that country and translated by an official translator (except for documents in Spanish, French and English).
