University of Algarve hosts BIP on Soft Skills and Human Capital Management
Organised by UAlg, in collaboration with the University of Gdańsk (Poland) and the University of Split (Croatia), this programme was part of the activities of the European University of the Seas Alliance (SEA-EU), promoting an international and interdisciplinary approach to the development of transversal skills.
The virtual component took place from 16 to 20 June and brought together 23 students and four lecturers from three partner universities of the Alliance (CAU, UNIST and UG), in sessions dedicated to intercultural communication, generational diversity and cross-cultural collaboration.
During the in-person week in Faro, participants explored topics such as non-verbal communication, workplace well-being, leadership, and job satisfaction. In addition to the academic sessions, the programme included cultural and social activities, such as a guided tour of Faro’s historical centre, a visit to the Faro Living Science Centre, and water-based activities at the Faro Beach Nautical Centre.
The BIP concluded with practical simulations on multicultural communication and a final session for the awarding of certificates. Granting 6 ECTS credits, this initiative reinforces SEA-EU’s commitment to innovative, inclusive, and globally connected higher education.
