Erasmus+ KA2 project NURSLING
University of Algarve in Central Asia, Uzbekistan
On April 1-5 the University of Algarve (UAlg) participated in the Final Conference of the Erasmus+ KA2 project NURSLING "National Qualification Frameworks: Guidelines for Development and Recognition of Qualifications", that took place at the National University of Uzbekistan (NUUz) in Tashkent.
NURSLING - coordinated by UAlg - is the first Capacity Building project coordinated by a Portuguese institution in higher education, approved in 2015 with an internacional Consortium of 12 partners.
The registration and opening session took place on April 2 at NUUz. Together with NUUz University Coucil, a representative from the Ministry of Higher and Secondary Education participated in the meeting with an oral presentation about current situation in Uzbek education system.
The UAlg Committee composed by Vice-rector for Research and Internalization Alexandra Teodósio, NURSLING Coordinator Prof. Igor Khmelinskii, Head of the International Relations and Mobility Office Marleni Azevedo and NURSLING&ChIR assistant Nataliya Butenko together with the NURSLING partners from the University of Trento, University of Patras, Bath Spa University and World University Service as well as 7 partners from the Uzbek institutions participated in the presentations and discussion of the project final results and of possible future collaborations. Moreover, an external evaluator was invited to attend the conference.
During this week, the UAlg Committee with the international partners had an opportunity to visit Samarkand State University where their Vice-rector for the International Relations Mulhtor Nosirov showed interest in collaboration between the universities of the NURSLING Consortium, followed by a suggestion to sign a Memorandum of Understanding for the future cooperation, particularly with UAlg.
