UAlg organised meetings of the Joint Programmes Working Group (JPWG)
On the first day, Patricia Pinto, Pro-Rector for the Alliance of European Universities of the Sea, welcomed the participants. Lola Perea Barbera, from the University of Cadiz, then gave a detailed report on the JPWG's expert sub-groups, covering topics such as the Glossary of Joint Programmes, student mobility, certification of English proficiency, internships, relations with industry, the evaluation process and quality assurance.
The representatives also shared ideas on the topics covered and on the different ways of disseminating Joint Programmes between external universities and SEA-EU Alliance partners.
Also on 7 March, Laura Howard, a lecturer at the University of Cádiz, discussed the award of joint degrees (EDLab Project) leading to a European degree, highlighting experiences in promoting cooperation in European higher education. Representatives from nine universities exchanged information and ideas on the challenges associated with awarding Joint Programme degrees based on different university and country regulations.
The second day focused on two crucial topics: fees and funding and the SEA-EU Joint Programme Platform. Delphine Dall, from the University of Brest, shared information and some experiences from the Turquoooise project to help the JPWG determine the financial framework. Finally, Adriano Pires, from the University of Algarve, concluded the meeting by presenting information on the JPWG's Common Platform and Digital Identity.
