SEA-EU Vice-Rectors meet at 2nd Future Leadership Forum in Naples

On October 9th and 10th, the second Future Leadership Forum (FLF) event of the SEA-EU Alliance took place in Naples, bringing together vice-rectors focused on internationalization. The UAlg delegation included Alexandra Teodósio, Vice-Rector for Internationalization and Sustainability, and Patrícia Pinto, Pro-Rector for SEA-EU.

The forum facilitated discussions on the significant role of the SEA-EU Alliance and its partners in achieving the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Participants deliberated on initiatives and strategies to foster closer alignment with the 2030 targets, focusing on enhancing collaboration among SEA-EU member universities. Key topics included suggestions for a collaborative framework to optimize sharing resources, expertise, and best practices among partners. The discussions also covered strategies to boost student and faculty engagement in SEA-EU cooperative projects, reflecting on the potential for a new initiative and organizational structure within the FLF framework.

On October 10th, the agenda shifted to the role of SEA-EU in supporting universities' internationalization strategies. Representatives exchanged best practices and shared insights on overcoming challenges in this area. Presentations highlighted major priorities for internationalization, emphasizing which staff groups would benefit most and identifying key barriers to progress. The meeting underscored the importance of SEA-EU as a driving force in promoting global cooperation and innovation across European universities.
