Overview
New distilleries using modern, more efficient equipment are producing spirits with different characteristics than those made with traditional stills. The emergence of these new distillates has sparked a growing interest among people looking for methodologies to guide them in choosing the best beverages.
Objectives
This course is designed to introduce potential enthusiasts of these beverages to:
- Their own aptitude for the sensory evaluation of basic tastes (sweet, salty, acidic, bitter, and umami).
- The standard conditions required for sensory analysis (tasting rooms with standardized environments).
- Tasting spirits with known characteristics.
- Tasting spirits with unknown characteristics.

The course includes an assessment.
