Who can apply?

  • Holders of a Technological Specialisation Diploma, obtained after completing a Technological Specialisation Course (CET)*. Specific Entrance Test (PIE) required. For more information, click here.
  • Holders of a Higher Professional Technician Diploma, obtained after completing a Higher Professional Technical Course (CTeSP)*. It may be necessary to take the Specific Entrance Test (PIE). For more information, click here.
  • Candidates who have passed the aptitude tests for entry to higher education (Candidates Over 23 Years Old)
  • Holders of other higher education certificates or diplomas

* For degrees in the university subsystem (Agronomy and Computer Engineering), applications from holders of a Technological Specialisation Diploma and holders of a Higher Professional Technician Diploma are subject to the criteria required in the National Access Competition.

Note: Students covered under the International Student Status are not eligible to apply under this regime.

Necessary Documentation

  • Identity Document
  • Passing certificate of a higher education course, with the respective final grade and scale if not 0 to 20 (not required for students of the University of Algarve)
  • Passing certificate of one of an extinct courses in Primary Teaching or Kindergarten Teaching or General Nursing, together with a passing certificate of secondary education, complementary to secondary education or 10th and 11th Years of schooling
  • Passing certificate for a technological specialisation course (not required for students of the University of Algarve)
  • For CET holders - certificate proving completion of the entry test for the degree (not required for those who took tests at UAlg)
  • Passing certificate of Aptitude tests that over-23s must take in order to attend university specifying the specific component (not required for those who took the tests at the University of Algarve)
  • Passing certificate of a professional higher technical course (not required for students of the University of Algarve)
  • For CTeSP holders - proof of completion of the entrance exam for the degree (not required for those who took tests at UAlg)
  • Curriculum Vitae (mandatory for holders of a technological specialisation course or a professional higher technical course)
