Registrations are now open for the 17th edition of the Algarve History Course

On July 1 begins the 17th edition of the open course in Algarve History, organized by the Faculty of Human and Social Sciences (FCHS) of the University of Algarve (UAlg). The course will take place in the amphitheater A, of the pedagogical complex, in the Gambelas Campus, between 6pm and 8pm. Registrations are already open.

This edition will have the theme "The Algarve and the Portuguese Empire" and will feature a number of specialists.

Throughout the nine sessions that make up the course, we will seek to explore the relationship established between the region and the Empire, from Modernity to Contemporary times, in several areas that include the circulation of goods and people, economic relations, and influences on art and literature, among others.

In addition to the sessions, the course also includes a guided tour of the Sagres fortress, to be held on July 31st, which will allow an in loco appreciation of the relevance of the region in the context of Portuguese maritime expansion.
