Conditions of access

The admission requirements for this study cycle are established in Decree-Law no. 9A/2025 of 14 February:

1) Proficiency in spoken and written Portuguese, as well as mastery of the essential rules of logical and critical argumentation (Article 17(1) of Decree-Law no. 9A/2025), to be assessed during the application process.

2) Possession of a higher education qualification and the attainment of 80 to 100 credits in Portuguese and 60 to 80 credits in English, either within that qualification or through other higher education study cycles.

Applicants who have obtained at least 75% of the minimum required training credits may also apply for admission to this study cycle.

Enrolment in the curricular units related to subject-specific teaching methodologies and initiation to professional practice, including supervised teaching practice, may take place simultaneously with the completion of any outstanding credits. It is the responsibility of the legally and statutorily competent body of the higher education institution to determine which curricular units from the training components referred to in points a), b), and c) of Article 15(1) are to be undertaken by the candidates in order to obtain the credits required for the award of the master's degree.

 

Criteria for selection of the candidates

Candidate selection will be carried out by the course coordination committee, which will propose the final list of admitted candidates and reserve candidates.

The ranking criteria are as follows, in order of priority:

1) Final grade of the undergraduate degree;
2) Assessment results in the test of spoken and written Portuguese, and of the essential rules of logical and written argumentation;
3) Interview in English (eliminatory in nature);
4) Year of completion of the undergraduate degree, with priority given to those who completed it earlier;
5) Age of the candidate, with priority given to older candidates.

Certificate of Qualifications, proof of ownership of the graduate degree, with a description of the grades obtained in each curricular unit and the respective number of credits.
Copy of BI/CC or Passport.
Curriculum Vitae (with personal, academic and professional data).
