UAlg receives delegation from the University of North Carolina Wilmington

A delegation from the University of North Carolina Wilmington (UNCW), led by its Rector, Aswani K. Volety, visited the University of Algarve on 19 July.

The delegation was welcomed by the Rector of UAlg, Paulo Águas, and other members of the academic community, including the Vice-Rector for Research and Culture, Nuno Bicho, directors of Organic Units and coordinators of Research Centres.

The programme for the visit, which took place in the morning, began with a general presentation of UAlg, followed by presentations in the areas of Arts (film studies), Marine Sciences and Health, respectively by the Arts and Communication Research Centre (CIAC), the Algarve Centre of Marine Sciences (CCMAR), the Marine and Environmental Research Centre (CIMA) and the Algarve Biomedical Center Research Institute (ABC-RI), with the participation of the Organic Units.  

This was followed by a visit to laboratory spaces at CCMAR, CIMA and ABC-RI, with a presentation of some research projects.
