The SINERGEA R&D project aims to create a smart and innovative platform to support the integrated and optimised management of energy, bathing water quality and flooding in coastal cities. As part of the “smart cities” paradigm, this platform will simultaneously: 1) contribute to the energy efficiency of cities, through integrated strategies to minimise the energy consumption of drainage infrastructures; 2) protect the use of urban bathing areas by preventing contamination from urban discharges; and 3) contribute to the integrated management and response to the emergence of flood risk in cities.
