This edition of UALGzine uses the 'people's personal stories remain unseen until they are shared' to illustrate that inclusion is a fundamental principle that transcends all aspects of social life.

In addition to ensuring accessibility and equal opportunities, inclusion involves creating environments in which everyone, regardless of their differences, feels valued and respected, and has a sense of belonging. Inclusive policies play a crucial role in creating fairer, more equitable academic communities.

Higher education institutions (HEIs) have a social responsibility to lead by example. Training future leaders and professionals to be sensitive to inclusion issues is fundamental to building a more equal world where every human being is recognised and valued.

Investing in inclusion goes beyond policies and speeches; it is manifested in small daily actions and, above all, demonstrates a commitment to a more cohesive, prosperous and equal future society.
