It is widely recognised that science makes an unquestionable contribution to society. It is through science that extraordinary advances have been made in the areas of health, the environment, technology and food, among many others, with a significant impact on improving people's quality of life and enriching societies intellectually and culturally.

Science is a goal of UAlg. We are proud of the work being done by our R&D Units. We want to do more, which means we need more resources, which we will seek from both regional, national and international sources. We want to increase our impact on society. That's why we're once again dedicating another issue of UALGzine to this theme, this time structured around our R&D Units, so that we can publicise what is being done and also, in this way, be accountable.
