Much is said about the role of women in society. The truth is that women have always played several roles simultaneously, against the backdrop of different realities, depending on religion, ethnicity, colour, geographical location, individual whims or other distinct realities.

These are the faces of some UAlg women, who talk about their ‘stories’, the challenges facing women in today's society, the references that have marked their lives and their journeys at the University of the Algarve. They represent all the other women - former and current students, staff, researchers and professors - who have helped write UAlg's history and made it ‘A University that makes a mark’.
