This issue is structured around the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) at the heart of the 2030 Agenda. To illustrate our contribution, we’ll present 32 ongoing and recently completed research projects conducted within UAlg Research Units, each of which is closely linked to our region and those responsible for it. 

The result achieved is due to the work done by the editors with the research units and the willingness of researchers to share the knowledge they have built up.
