About the Training
Integrated into the strategy for internationalization and consolidation of advanced training in humanitarian action—aligned with initiatives promoted through the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) and international sector forums—this course aims to equip professionals to respond safely and competently to the complex challenges of contemporary crisis environments.
Built on three pillars—robust curriculum, safe learning environment, and immersive training experience—the course provides intensive training in hyper-realistic settings through practical outdoor simulations that replicate hostile environment conditions. Key areas covered include:
• Risk assessment and management
• Personal protection measures
• Travel security
• Medical emergencies
• Behavior under threat
• Stress management and mental health
• Tactical communications
• Movement, navigation, and survival techniques
The course is delivered by highly experienced instructors with backgrounds in military, humanitarian, and combat medicine, following a residential and intensive model.
Objectives
• Develop skills to operate in armed conflict contexts and understand their impact on civilians
• Strengthen conflict resolution capabilities and protection of vulnerable populations
• Increase confidence and effectiveness in managing critical situations
• Provide participants with practical tools for effective response to high-risk scenarios
Application Requirements
Applications are submitted online via a form including a biographical/curricular questionnaire and a motivation letter. Selection is based on CV review and motivation, with priority given to candidates with training in humanitarian action, journalism, or diplomacy.
The course requires a minimum of 10 and a maximum of 30 participants.

• Tuition (national participants): €850
• Tuition (international participants): €1,350
10% discount for students and alumni of the FMCB UAlg Postgraduate Program in Humanitarian Action (applied to national fee)
Target Audience
This course is designed for professionals in the corporate sector, journalists, diplomats, and humanitarian actors operating in high-risk contexts, including armed conflict, violence, political instability, medical emergencies, or humanitarian crises.
