HEIRS Opening Symposium marks new chapter in human evolution research
HEIRS, promoted by ICArEHB - Interdisciplinary Center for Archaeology and the Evolution of Human Behaviour, is born with the ambition of integrating data, crossing scientific disciplines and challenging global theories, contributing to a deeper understanding of our evolutionary history.
The inaugural symposium aims to promote collaborative approaches to synthesis in human evolution research, bringing together experts from various disciplines; to present how HEIRS works and the tools that will be available to researchers, and to reflect on the challenges of synthesis in scientific research and propose innovative solutions.
The event will feature excellent international speakers such as: Francesco d'Errico (University of Bordeaux, France); Felix Riede (Aarhus University, Denmark); Allowen Evin (Montpellier Institute of Evolutionary Sciences, France); Philip Riris (Bournemouth University, UK); Robert Foley (University of Cambridge, UK); Siobhán Cully (University of New Mexico, USA); Janet Kelso (Max Planck Institute for Evolutionary Anthropology, Germany); and Jeffrey Altschul (Coalition for Archaeological Synthesis, USA).
HEIRS represents a privileged space for fostering collaboration and synthesising data on both local and global scales to uncover humanity's past. This inaugural symposium will not only publicise HEIRS' mission, but will also encourage new collaborations and reflections in the field of human evolution.
