Once you've enrolled at university, you can now apply for your Caixa IU ID card. This card is free and essential for accessing the various resources at your university, as well as offering exclusive advantages thanks to the partnership with Caixa Geral de Depósitos. If you choose the banking option, you'll have access to numerous benefits and you can use this card to top up your account.
How do I get my Student Card?
Caixa Geral de Depósitos will be there from
- 15 to 19 September, from 9:00 to 1:00pm and from 2:00pm to 6:00pm, at Floor 0 of Building 1 (Entrance Hall to the amphiteatre Teresa Júdice Gamito), Gambelas Campus
- 22 to 26 September, from 9:00 to 1:00pm and from 2:00pm to 6:00pm, at Entrance Hall of the Escola Superior de Educação e Comunicação, Penha Campus to get your student card.
When you go to the Caixa stand, you should take the following documents with you if you want the student card to also work as a bank card:
Opening an account for foreign students with a Portuguese NIF:
- Tax form with NIF
- Passport with student visa or National Identification Document for Schengen Area;
- Proof of address in Portugal
Opening an account for foreign students without a Portuguese NIF:
- Proof of NIF from country of origin
- Proof of address from country of origin
- Passport with student visa or National Identification Document for Schengen Area
- Proof of address in Portugal
