Ambassador of the Republic of Kazakhstan visited UAlg
With the objective of promoting cooperation ties between Portugal and Kazakhstan, especially in terms of Tourism, the visit also allowed to address other potential areas of interest that UAlg may offer, highlighting the importance of Aquaculture and Fisheries and, also, of the Sport.
The meeting was held simultaneously, via zoom, with the International of Tourism and Hospitality, in Kazakhstan, and was attended by Dean Mainura Murzamadiyeva, celebrating a Memorandum of Understanding. On the part of UAlg, the director of the School of Management, Hospitality and Tourism (ESGHT), Alexandra Gonçalves, and the coordinator of the Office of International Relations and Mobility (GRIM), Marleni Azevedo, were also present.
The possibilities of cooperation in the area of Tourism were addressed for the purposes of mobility, internships and future investigations. The institutions agreed, starting next year, to study the possibilities of cooperation, which will translate into the signing of a specific protocol with the ESGHT. The possibility of holding doctorates in international education was approached, with the know-how of the Faculty of Economics and the Center for Research in Tourism, Sustainability and Welfare (CINTUR).
In the end, the possibility of collaboration in the area of Aquaculture (Pisciculture) in the Aral Sea was recently explored, through a partnership between UAlg, IPMA and Portuguese companies in the area of aquaculture, within the scope of the S2AQUAcoLAB Collaborative Laboratory.
